You know, I find it sad for Alister, being exiled for a mistake he unintentionally did. Yeah, he did give the tech to the scientist, but he didn't know that the scientist was Percival or that he go on a genocidal rampage. If you ask me, the Lombaxes should have still tried to understand his position despite what happened to them.
